Guide for Analyzing Creation Myths

The student should be able to complete the following for each creation myth:

State the Title
State the place of origin
Explain the enviornmental context i.e., climate, geography, weather pattern
Describe what existed before the creation of the present world
Describe the creation of the present world
Explain who or what did the creating
Describe the materials it, they, he, she used
Describe how and with what materials was mankind created
Explain what this creation myth suggests about this culture
Explain two aspects of the myth which suggest the underlying astronomic, scientific, medical, or mathematical ideas
Identify two aspects of the myth/culture that you would like to know more about
List three to five biographical sources or Web sites
