23659 (343rd BS, 98th BG, *Blond Bomber II*) damaged by flak during raid on Naples and
forced to land at emergency strip near Pachino, Sicily Feb 20, 1943 and plane and
crew were captured by Regia Aeronautica.  Plane repaired and transferred to 
Centro Sperimentale at Guidonia where it was extensively tested by
Italian personnel as I-RAIN, then to Germany Jun 19, 1943 and to KG200.  During
flight by German personnell the undercarriage collspsed and the plane
was damaged.  Found at Rechlin by Allied personnel heavily damaged.

(360th BS, 303rd BG, *Wolf Hound*) force-landed in France on Dec 12, 1942, after 
attacking Rouen Sotteville marshalling yards, while in service with 303rd Bomb Group, 
Molesworth.  Recovered by Luftwaffe.  After flight testing at Rechlin,
it was used for demonstration visits to Luftwaffe Jagdgruppen as DL+XC (also quoted as DL+XS), 
before being assigned to I./KG200 in Sep 1943 as A3+AE.  Destroyed in bombing raid on Oranienburg Apr 10, 1945.

Sept 10, 1943.  11 on each aircraft killed.
24622 assigned to the AAFTCC 3501st Base Unit and stationed at Boca Raton Army Air Field.. It was used for 
Engineering and Radar check flights.  On May 27, 1944 ,while on a Radar Check Flight, the #1 engine 
caught fire shortly after takeoff. The plane turned to return to the field. Before returning the fire 
was extingushed but due to electrical failure the tail wheel would not lower. The wheel was hand cranked 
down but it was not fully extended at the time of landing. The plane landed hard causing major 
damage to the tail section ( fuselage sprung and bent in tail section). There was also major damage 
to the #1 engine, lower left wing , left flap and main landing gear retracting motors.  From the 
notations on the Aircraft History card it appears the plane was ordered  to be scrapped on June 24, 1944
