MSN T.6280,6281,6284/6289
1949 (MSN T.6280, 12th FTW/560th FTS). Written off Mar 19, 2003. Circumstances of
accident were that whilst landing at Randolph AFB, TX the
right main undercarriage tire disintegrated causing the aircraft to veer off
the runway and collide with a barrier support stanchion. The impact forced
the front seat throttle quadrant into the ejection seat, causing the seat to
fire and involuntarily ejecting the front seat pilot, who was killed as the
angle of the aircraft (with nose and right undercarriages collapsed) allowed
no opportunity for his parachute to fill and slow his impact. The rear seat
pilot sustained minor injuries.

1956 (MSN T.6289, 12th FTW) crashed on takeoff at Randolph AFB, TX Sep 9, 1972. Both crew killed.
