was killed by a flak blast which also injured the navigator.  Pilot ordered the crew to prepare to bail 
out and thinking he heard bail out the navigator jumped (died in German hospital).  Seeing his chute open, 
the tail gunner also jumped and became POW.  Plane landed safely.  MACR 6838 written for the lost crewmen.  
Aircraft was lost Sep 28, 1944 with 379th BG, 524th BS (named "Lil Satan") on mission to Magdeburg, Germany.
