In thee fall of 2006 the decision was made to sell C-47A 43-15137 at auction after six decades of hard 
service. The aircraft was cut up with the only significant section still intact - the cockpit. 
QuestMasters obtained this cockpit section during the summer of 2007.

Miami Airlines.  At this time the plane was converted to DC-3C-S1C3G standards.  On Mar 22, 1947 it was further 
converted to DC-3C standard.  On Apr 27, 1952 the plane was flown to Remmert-Werner, Inc in St. Louis for 
engine conversion to more powerful R-1830-94. The aircraft was then registered as CF-ICU on Apr 22, 1955, with 
Arctic Wings of Ottawa.  Over the next few years it changed hands at least three times, and on an unknown 
date it was exported to Israel.  In June 1967 it was ferried from Tel Aviv to Cambridge, England. Delivered 
to Englert Aviation Enterprises as N19721 on Mar 27, 1969, and by August it was with Williams Bros. of 
Tulsa, OK. With more changes of hands, and even a lease in 1976 to Federal Express, the plane was placed 
in storage in Springfield, MO in June 1987. The aircraft was seen in June 2010 at the Vintage Flying 
Museum, Ft. Worth, TX, with no wings or tail pieces
