as a tourist bureau on Nov 19, 1981 and began operating as an aviation museum about 
Western Australian aviation. Purchased ca.1989 by The Aviation Museum, Bullcreek Drive, Perth.  
Latest information found on the internet is that the plane became PK-GDC some time later, 
and "was sold to Peter Hanbury of Armadale, W.A. on 23APR03. During May 2003 the aircraft was 
dismantled and trucked to the property of Jeff Green at Armadale, W.A.  It is reported
that the owner is intending to convert the aircraft into a studio."
15576 (MSN 20042) struck of charge at Sembach Air Base, Germany on Sep 1964 for spares recovery
15579 (MSN 20045) converted to VC-47A.  Served with the California ANG beginning in September 
1954 and used by the Governor with the name “Grizzly.”  Over the years it was borrowed to 
ferry 144th ADW pilots to Hamilton AFB, as well as flying all the California governors 
and other VIPs around California.  It was also used as a flying command post during floods 
and similar emergencies, and was equipped with communications for the governor’s office 
and state police. It was also on loan to the USMC during March 1971.  The plane was retired 
in March 1973 and placed on static display at the ANG base five miles northeast of Fresno.
In 1987 was preserved at Hurlburt Field, FL painted as '43010', although nominally on charge of 
USAFM.  Now on display at March Field Museum, California.
