A photo of N9174Z with test engine shows no evidence of Marketeer

The Marketeer conversion was removed during conversion to tanker, it then flew as tanker

34535 sold on commercial market as N8020E. Transferred to Portugal in 1965 as 7101.
Abandoned at Luanda, Angola in 1975. This may be the plane on display in Havana, Cuba marked as FAR 933,
repainted as 937 following Hurrican Michelle Nov 2001. It is thought that Cuban forces in Angola might
have brought this plane back to Cuba as a trophy. It is commonly thought
that the aircraft on display cannot be a genuine Cuban Air Force A-26, for the Cubans only had A-26Cs and this
is obviously a B model. 937 was was the only FAR A-26 in airworthy condition at the time of the
Bay of Pigs invasion. 933 was the fake FAR A-26 that landed in Miami on April 15th 1961 pretending
he had defected from Cuba. Perhaps the museum had tried to pass off 937 as the fake 933 (the real 933
had a glass nose). The Museo del Aire A-26B might be the original 937. It was not part of the batch
of A-26Cs sold to Cuba in 1956 but was sold separatly to Cuba for use as a parts source, probably after
the US government imposed an arms embargo against the Batista regime in the late 50s. It was never
given a Cuban Air Force number until it was repaired and put in service under Castro's Air Force.
