England, one mile south of Orfordness, in the Humber Diver Area, a restricted area over the English Channel. The aircraft was shot
down at 2005 hours, 4 Mar 4, 1945, by friendly allied anti-aircraft (English Coastal defense guns) ground fire. Four fatal. At the 
time the aircraft is believed to have been shot down, an enemy air raid was taking place.

hard landing on one wheel, full power was applied by the instructor because 
another aircraft had entered the runway. The engine failed on climbout and the 
C-46 struck the mast of a ship, causing it to crash into the sea.
