MSN 8701/8750.  B-17G built by Lockheed-Vega Airplane Company as part of pooled production
85794 to Croswell, MI as a war memorial 1947-1950.  Scrapped, some parts salvaged by Yankee Air Force
85802	TB-17G.	 53rd RS, VLR, Weather. Detached to Kindley Field, Bermuda 1946
85806 transferred to US Coast Guard Nov 1946 as PB-1G 77245.  
85812 transferred to US Coast Guard as PB-1G 77246. 
85813 converted to EB-17G turboprop test bed by Curtiss Wright.  Designation changed to JB-17G in 1956.  Sold
to Curtiss Wright in 1957 under civil number N6694C.  Went through succession of civilian owners, ultimately
ending up as aerial tanker.  Crashed on takeoff Apr 16, 1980 from Bear Pen Airport, North Carolina.  Crash remains
eventually acquired by Tom Reilly of Kissimmee, FL for use in creating a flyable B-17 out of usable parts from 
this plane and from 44-85734.  Reported in 2006 to be under
restoration to fly at Douglas, GA.  Registered N3154S Feb 26, 2007.  Parts from crashed 44-85505
used for restoration.  In 2012 was at Champaign Aviation Museum, Urbana, Ohio and under restoration. 
85815 converted to MB-17G configuration to carry two JB-2 Loon missiles on underwing (outboard of engines)
racks.  Later reported as being one of 6 mothership aircraft in Operation Crossroads nuclear test
series.
85817 To VB-17G.  Assigned to 1100th FOG, Bolling AFB, DC.  Was at one time N31851.  To Bolivian AF in 1956.  Oct 1956 
sold to Aerovias Los Andes as CP-622.  Subsequently to Frigorifico
Co-Op Los Andes.  W/o at Laja, Bolivia Feb 18, 1957.
85819 converted to QB-17 drone and flew during Operation Crossroads.  In Aug 1946 was one of two QB-17s that flew
by radio control from Hilo, Hawaii to Muroc AAF California, setting a 2400 mile record for unmanned aircraft.
Each drone was controlled by an escorting aircraft.  Reclamation completed Dec 15, 1949.
85821/85831 transferred to US Coast Guard as PB-1G 77247/77257.
85829 MSN 8738 Jul 1945 accepted by ATC at Burbank, CA, July 16, and ferried to the Lockheed Modification Center, Dallas-Love Field, TX
Sep 1945 flown to South Plains, TX, to be stored. Under command of ATS;
Feb 1946 assigned to 4104th Base Unit, Rome AFB, NY, on February 20, put into short term storage;
Aug 1946 assigned to 5948th Base Unit (AMC), Topeka, KS, but seemed to have been remained at Rome AB during the transfer to the USCG;
Sep 1946 transferred to USCG and assigned BuAerNo '77255'. Sent to the Naval Aircraft Modification Unit, NAS Johnsville, PA, for conversion 
into PB-1G air-sea rescue configuration. 
85832 transferred to US Coast Guard as PB-1G May 1947.  Kept original USAAF serial.  Returned Aug 1948.  
Acquired by Navy and reserialed as BuNo 84000.  Used only as spare parts source.
85833 and 85835 earmarked for USCG but scrapped before transfer.
85834 transferred to US Coast Guard as PB-1G 82856.  
85836 transferred to Brazilian Air Force as 5404.  crashed in 1959.
85837 transferred to US Coast Guard as PB-1G 82855. 
85838 transferred to US Coast Guard as PB-1G 82857. 
85840 transferred to Lloyd Aero Boliviano Nov 1956 as CP-620 but later returned to USA in 1968 as N620L with Aircraft
Specialties Inc of Mesa, AZ.  Used in film "Tora, Tora Tora" in 1969.  Crashed July 12, 1973 near Elko, NV while
firebombing.
