carriage of atomic weapons.  Converted to Silverplate Victor 91.  Assigned to 393rd Bomb Squadron, 
509th Composite Group.  Named "Necessary Evil"  Was camera ship on Hiroshima atomic bombing 
mission Aug 6, 1945.   Reported late 1946/early 1947 at Roswell Army AirForce Base, NM, as operational
To Naval Ordnance Test Station, China Lake in 1956, eventually scrapped.
86292 To the Martin Modification Center, Omaha, NB, for Code Silverplate conversion for the 
carriage of atomic weapons.  Converted to Silverplate Victor number 82, was *Enola Gay*, which 
dropped atomic bomb on Hiroshima Aug 6, 1945.  For many years was in storage at Paul Garber
facility at NASM, Washington DC.  Fuselage put on display at NASM for 50th
anniversary of Hiroshima bombing.  Has now been moved to and is fully assembled at
the Smithsonian's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center at Washington-Dulles IAP.
86295 (307th BW, 372nd BS) damaged by MiGs and landed at K-14 Oct 23, 1951.
86308 converted to SB-29A
86313 (TB-29A, 875BS  498BG) while on a night navigation training flight from MacDill Field, Florida
to Chicago and back, flew into the Clingmans dome mountain (Alt. 6,643 feet), approx 200-400 below 
the crest. during thunderstorms and cloudy weather Jun 11/12, 1946 with the loss of 12 aircrew
