General Eisenhower. Named ‘Sunflower II’.  Assigned to 1254th Air Transport Squadron, Gravelly Point,
Virginia in 1948.  Redesignated C-54E Apr 6, 1951.  Assigned to 7167th Special Air Missions Squadron at
Wiesbaden, West Germany in Apr 1951.   In Mar 1971 was assigned
to US Military Training Mission USAFE at Dharan, Saudi Arabia.   WFU and stored as CC218 Jul 11, 1972 
Davis Monthan AFB, AZ.  Bought by Dross Metals, Inc Nov 6, 1975 and broken up
9147 (MSN 27373/DO319) was transferred to US Navy Jul 19, 1945 as R5D-5
listed as BuNo 90417 but entire bloc of registration was
cancelled.  Plane was used by Former President Herbert Hoover, chairman of President Truman's Famine
Emergency Committee, to fly to India to determine their need for food assistance in May 1946.
Reported going to US Coast Guard in 1958 as EC-54U 9147.
Bought by Bergen Air Transport Aug 20, 1967, ferried as
N316A.  To civil registry  Sep 20, 1967 as LN-MOB with Bergen Air Transport.
To Nordic Air Dec 15, 1970, rebought by Bergen Air Transport
Apr 4, 1973 and named "Moby Dick" .  Leasted to Fao Airlift
Zaire Aero Services and bought Jun 3, 1977 and registered as 9Q-CFB 
WFU and stored N'Dolo, Kinshasa, Zaire Apr 1981 and broken up.
9148 (MSN 27374/DO320) to French AF in Jul 1945 as personal aircraft of General Charles
de Gaulle, call sign F-RAFA.  Used tail number of 49148 as serial.
Transferred to Aeronavale Jan 1960, call sign F-SCAC.  After a transfer to the French Navy,
9148 used various F-Y... call signs (F-Ynnn being allocated to non-combat naval aircraft),
and during the final career in New Caledonia, was F-YCIA then F-YEGA. 
Crashed on Mount Kokoreta shortly after takeoff from Nomea-La Tontouta,
Tahiti Jan 21, 1982.  All 7 crew killed.
