On May 30, 2003, the aircraft sustained substantial damage during the landing roll at the West Houston Airport (IWS),
near Houston, Texas. The cross-country flight departed from the Richard Lloyd James Jr. Airport (RVS), near Tulsa,
Oklahoma and was destined for IWS. The pilot reported that while landing the airplane touched down at approximately
75 knots. When the nose wheel touched down, there was a "minor high frequency shimmy and he immediately
pulled the stick back and the shimmy stopped." As the airspeed bled off, the nose wheel came back in contact
with the runway and "tracked straight down the runway." At approximately 15 to 18 knots, the airplane suddenly
started to shimmy "so bad, he couldn't even see." He stopped the airplane, and then taxied to the ramp
to inspect the airplane. Examination of the aircraft revealed the nose gearbox, lower engine cowlings, and nose
gear doors were damaged. Further inspection revealed the forward engine firewall was structurally damaged.
Examination of the aircraft logbooks revealed the nose wheel shimmy damper was repacked prior to departing RVS.
On August 14, 2015, the aircraft was substantially damaged during a forced landing near Las Cruces International
Airport (LRU), Las Cruces, New Mexico. The pilot was fatally injured and the passenger was seriously injured.
The flight departed from Las Cruces and was destined for El Paso International Airport (ELP), El Paso, Texas.
About 5 minutes after departing from LRU, the passenger stated the engine lost partial power and the pilot
initiated a return back to LRU. The pilot subsequently executed a forced landing into uneven terrain about
one-half mile prior to the runway threshold at LRU, which damaged both wings and fuselage.

13559 (MSN 880-8343, 27th FIS) crashed Jul 2, 1954 after both crewmembers
ejected after a fire warning light had illuminated. Aircraft crashed
at Walesville Intersection, NY, killing 4 people on the ground.
This incident is often listed in UFO lore as being brought down
while chasing a UFO. Supposedly, when the pilot tried to close
in on the target, a sudden, unbearable heat filled the cockpit,
forcing the crew to bail out. The F-94 was on a routine training
mission when GCI requested the plane intercept an unknown
aircraft. The pilot identified it as a C-47 and was then requested
to check out a second unidentified aircraft (later described
as an unidentified weather balloon). When the pilot started
a descent, he noted an increase in cockpit temperature and noted
the fire warning light, the engine was shut down and both
crewmembers ejected successfully.

15302/15307 to Italian Army/ Esercito Italiano. Super Cubs were initially allocated a serial based on the US MDAP serial. For
political/legal reasons within the Italian military forces, the aircraft were registered to the Ministero della Difesa Esercito as I-EIxx
